OF THE OZARK City COUNCIL
MARCH 299 2023
OZARK CITY COUNCIL MEETING ROOM
The Special Meeting of the Ozark City Council held Wednesday, March 29, 2023 was-
called to order by Mayor Roxie Hall. Present were Mayor Hall, City Clerk Susan Stevens, and
Treasurer/Deputy City Clerk Marla Ward. Also present were Alderpersons Angela Harris, Argest
Hyler, David Mahon, Loren Maier, Charlie Meeker, and Randy Melton. Vernon McDaniel was
also present.
Subject of the meeting was the roofing project on the Anderson Building. When the
original bids were taken for the job, all that they included was the roof. Therefore, the ends
soffit, gables, fascia, etc.) were not done. Mayor Hall called Alice from Harris Metal Roofing
and Construction and questioned what was included in the new estimate sheet. It states that” old
metal on the gables and sides will be removed and new black metal will be installed. If there are
rotten boards, they will be replaced.” This cost is given as$ 4879. 00. David Mahon questioned as
to whether or not the soffit was.included and no,.it is not. Alice is to call back with information
on that part of project. On return phone call and information hand-out it was stated” soffits will
be installed around the building” at the cost of$4165. 98.
A discussion was held about the other bids that were received for the project and they
were also just for the roof: A metal roof carries a longer warranty than a shingled roof. It was
mentioned that the new roof and the mural have already generated quite a few positive comments from the public. Mayor Hall stated that it showed the City in a good light that we are leading by example by cleaning and improving the city owned property. Argest Hyler requested a copy ofthe itemized bill for services and the warranties upon completion of the project. David Mahon questioned whether or not we needed to pass a Resolution for the additional funds. Randy Melton-did not think so, since there would be a vote-on the appropriation of the funds. Mayor Hall said that she would check it out with the ARML
A motion to adjourn was made by Randy Melton and seconded by Argest Hyler. Upon a
roll call vote, all Alderpersons voted aye and the meeting was adjourned
